With women making up less than one-third of technology roles in the global workforce, Sony and Nature will use this award to support promising female researchers at key stages of their research and career development. The winner of the award will be announced in her early 2025. Applications for the award will be accepted below. From March 6th to May 31st, 2024. Submitted works will be evaluated by a panel of independent and respected engineers, scientists, and experts from around the world. Qualification details
- The award is open to applicants who identify as women and work in technology research and development, and includes professionals from all fields of mathematics, science and engineering. Inclusive definitions of “woman” and “woman” apply, and trans women, genderqueer and non-binary people are welcomed.
- Eligible researchers working for universities, research institutes, or university spin-out companies are encouraged to apply. This also includes part-time and contract workers. A PhD is not a prerequisite for eligibility criteria.
- All three award recipients are selected from early to mid-career years (less than 25 years after undergraduate graduation), and at least one is selected from early career years (less than 15 years after undergraduate graduation).
