A local law firm hosted an event to celebrate the achievements of women in science and technology on International Women's Day.

The Gardner Leaders Gathering brought together industry leaders, executives and members of Oxford's academic community, who also made a donation to Maths4Girls, a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) charity.

The event was held at the new HB Allen Center at Keble College, Oxford.

Sponsored by Critchleys Chartered Accountants, the event allowed participants to network, share ideas and recognize the perspectives women bring to the science and technology community.

The event, which attracted more than 80 attendees, celebrated women's achievements and showcased innovation across a variety of industries.

This year's International Women's Day theme, “#InspireInclusion to build a better, more inclusive world for women,” was recognized.

The day featured speakers with backgrounds in science, academia, and business.

Astroscale's Sharon Parker Lines said: “While celebrating women's achievements on International Women's Day, I was honored to participate in the Gardner Leader's Inspire Inclusion event and share my experience working in the space industry. I'm very happy,” he added.

The charity supported by this event, Maths4Girls, focuses on encouraging pre-teen girls to improve their maths skills and consider careers in maths-related fields.

Juliette Buet, project lead for Maths4Girls, thanked Gardner Leader and Critchleys for providing a platform to showcase their work.

Addis added: “It was an honor to support the important work undertaken by Math4Girls.

“The charity plays a vital role in encouraging the next generation to excel in maths beyond GCSE and explore the great career opportunities available through STEM subjects.”

Representatives from Critchleys also expressed their pride and satisfaction in participating in the “Inspire Inclusion” event.

Catherine Wilkes, Audit Partner at Critchleys, acknowledged that Oxfordshire is endowed with a range of talent and inspiration.
