The General Services Administration's Login.gov platform will begin piloting facial matching technology in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Digital Identity Guidelines to enable remote identity verification at Identity Assurance Level 2.
Starting in May, Login.gov will allow users at existing agency partners to match a live selfie with a photo of a self-provided ID, such as a driver's license, to ensure the image is used for identity verification purposes. will only be used. GSA said Thursday it will protect user privacy.
