Hawkeye Community College instructor named “2024 Educator of the Year”

HCC Automotive Technology Instructor Jelot Jacobson (center) has been named Vision Hi-Tech Training and Expo's 2024 Educator of the Year.

He was nominated by fellow educators, former students, and automotive industry professionals. The award was presented to Mr. Jacobson on March 1st during his program at the Vision Council Educators Think Tank. Since 2019 he has been an instructor in the Automotive Technology Program.

Educator of the Year is awarded to an individual who stands out for their commitment to students and programs. They demonstrate innovative and successful teaching methods and strive to continuously adapt and advance in the field of education.

This conference is the premier professional development event for automotive service industry professionals. The Educator Think Tank program was launched to bring automotive technology educators together in an exciting, learning-driven environment to brainstorm, collaborate, and learn.
