The university received a kit from HMGMA consisting of automotive millimeters, megameters, multimeters, and an insulated toolset designed for use in electric vehicles. In total, this technology is worth nearly $10,000.
OTC President Lori Darden said: “Introducing state-of-the-art equipment to train students at the new Electric Vehicle Professional TCC is just the first of many steps to meet the region’s growing workforce demands.”
This year, OTC welcomed its first cohort of students to study the Electric Vehicle Professional (EVP) Technical Credential Certificate (TCC) on February 29th. This certificate allows students to obtain entry-level jobs in her EV industry.
HMGMA has invested or plans to invest $5.5 billion in EV and battery assembly in automaker Ellabell announced in 2022. Developers expect more than 8,000 people to be employed at HMGMA by 2025.
