hyderabad, india, April 29, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The Raj Reddy Center for Technology and Society (RCTS) at the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH) 18 rupees Centific awarded approximately $100,000 for the “AI-powered Automated Malnutrition Detection” project.

centific Financial support will fuel the first phase of the project, which includes: Development of a platform to build the core infrastructure of a malnutrition detection system using AI. First phase pilot deployment to implement the platform on the ground. Data collection to collect initial datasets for training and refining AI models. Performance optimization improves platform accuracy and efficiency. We will then deliver the first version of the prototype within an estimated time of 6 months.

IIIIT Hyderabad has partnered with i-Saksham, a non-profit organization (NGO) dedicated to empowering women and enhancing educational opportunities in Bihar. This collaboration is in line with the New Education Policy (NEP), which focuses on fundamental learning outcomes. The project aims to streamline growth monitoring, improve data accuracy, and provide reliable data to government agencies for effective interventions to combat malnutrition.

Existing workflows to capture and record height and weight measurements are completely manual and subject to data entry errors into the system by frontline staff such as anganwadi workers. Maintenance of weight and height measurement tools is also problematic, with equipment failures making the data unreliable.Because of this, the staff do In some cases, we may also estimate and record your child's height and weight. As of now, there is no proper data available from the government side to take steps to eliminate the same.

The current project aims to minimize these errors in data collection by automating as much as possible the process of recording height and weight information from measuring devices into a database. We propose to develop a CV-based solution that attempts to solve the problem with minimal or no additional hardware requirements (other than the user's smartphone) for consideration by organizations.

The professor who spoke about the grant was Ramesh LoganathanIIIIT Hyderabad Practice Professor said, “We are very pleased to receive support from Centific. Such support is very central to our efforts to support NGOs with the latest technology.” said.

doctor Dinesh ChandrasekharCentific's Chief Strategy Officer said, “As a pioneer in AI and analytics services, Centific is committed to leveraging AI for social good. In that regard, we are committed to helping address silent crises. We are happy to support our talented people.” Automating the process of detecting malnutrition goes beyond mere identification to ensure timely and targeted intervention, and as well as sponsoring this initiative, Centific The Intersection We also stand ready to provide technical expertise from our team. Cutting-edge technology and compassionate action have the potential to revolutionize the way we tackle societal challenges, ultimately leading to a vibrant and healthier future for all. ”
