Apparently, a lot of people wanted to do that long after the rest of them went to the other side, which is pretty weird.

No, it's not just something Star Wars made up, it's actually happening right now.
The Arizona-based Alcor Life Extension Foundation, which freezes corpses and places them in cryochambers filled with liquid nitrogen, hopes to someday have the technology to bring those inside back to life.

The facility already has more than 200 bodies, of which more than 100 heads have been selected for unique preservation.
The Alcor Foundation states on its website: “Cryonics is the practice of preserving life by using sub-zero temperatures to suspend the death process, with the aim of restoring health with future medical technologies.
“As medical understanding and technology advance, the definition of death changes over time. People who were declared dead decades ago may still have a chance today.
“Death used to be defined as the heart stopping and then not being able to restart, but now it has become much more widespread.”
The group claims that by preserving bodies and heads, they are “pausing the death process.”
Alcor, which has spent 52 years protecting people, was first incorporated in 1972 by Fred and Linda Chamberlain.
But what's crazy? Fred is currently frozen and Linda still works there.

The price for directly freezing a whole body is estimated at $29,600 at low temperatures and $129,300 at higher temperatures, according to the website.
