Honalee, a sophomore at Newport Harbor High School, has already proven himself to be a talented engineer, an accomplished businessman, and a dedicated steward of the planet. His technology began with a fifth-grade science project and was energized by the devastation he witnessed during the Camp Fire that devastated the Northern California town of Paradise in 2018. He wants to inspire other young people to consider his STEM opportunities for their future.
He said, “Environmental engineering is going to be one of the most important fields of my generation. My hope is that students are encouraged to pursue it and have the resources to do so. ” I believe. The LBHS chapter of the Climate Solutions Association, led by student Tyler Tafreshi, is one of the chapters inspired by Honary and his mission.
