The Vertical Flight Society (VFS) will hold its 80th Annual Forum and Technology Exhibition (Forum 80) from May 7-9, 2024 at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal in Quebec, Canada. The theme is “The Future of Vertical Flight.” Flight. “
It is the world's largest and longest-running aircraft dedicated to advances in vertical flight, including helicopters, advanced rotorcraft, vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) unmanned aircraft systems (UAS or drones), electric VTOL aircraft, and advanced air mobility (AAM) platforms. This is a long-running technical event. and other types of his VTOL aircraft.
“The Annual Forum is the premier technology event for engineers, scientists, researchers, academics, and aerospace professionals developing innovative technology for VTOL aircraft,” said Angelo Collins, executive director of the Vertical Flight Association. says Mr. “Anyone involved in vertical flight technology, whether a new student or a world expert, will benefit from attending.”
Approximately 1,200 attendees are expected and approximately 300 technical papers will be presented from industry, academia, and government agencies around the world. The forum will also include 65 exhibitors and over 40 invited VIP speakers from industry and government.
The opening general session of Forum 80 will be held on Tuesday, May 7th. The keynote address will be given by Jamie Speiser-Blanchett, Deputy Commander, Royal Canadian Air Force, MGen.

In addition, the 44th Annual Alexander A. Nikolsky presented “Rotorcraft Aerodynamics Methodology and its Application to Rotor Dynamics, Loads, Vibration, and Aeroelastic Stability” by Dr. Brahmananda Panda, Boeing Technical Fellow. I will give a lecture on “Applications”.
There will be a special session on military VTOL aircraft development with program managers and experts from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Canadian Navy, and National Research Council of Canada, as well as a dedicated special session on NATO. The Next Generation Rotorcraft Capability (NGRC) program with representatives from NATO, the UK Ministry of Defence, and the aerospace industry.
Sessions on government civilian VTOL research included the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), NASA's Revolutionary Vertical Lift Technology (RVLT), ONERA (French Aerospace Institute), and DLR (German Aerospace Center) rotorcraft research. The leader will give a speech.
Sessions on civil VTOL development in Canada will include leaders from the Helicopter Association of Canada (HAC), Canadian Advanced Air Mobility (CAAM), Cougar Helicopters Ltd., Canadian Helicopters Ltd., and the University of Sherbrooke.
Three sessions on electric VTOL/AAM included CEOs from CycloTech, GoAERO, Horizon, Jaunt Air Mobility, Limosa, Piasecki Aircraft Corp., and Rotor Technologies, as well as Archer Aviation, Beta Technologies, Daedalean AG, Unither Bioelectonics, Vertical's top executives will be in attendance. Aerospace and Wisquare Aero.
VFS hosted the world's first technical conference on the subject in 2014 and helped launch what the company calls the “electric VTOL revolution.” VFS will be hosting his one-day short course on electric VTOL technology on Monday, May 6th at Forum 80. The association has held two or three such courses each year since his 2018 and hosts his definitive website on the subject, www.eVTOL.news/news.
Approximately 20 individual and group awards will be presented at the association's Grand Awards Banquet Breakfast on Thursday, May 9, to honor the vertical flight community's greatest achievements.
