global mining review,

Mining One and EcoHoist have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the deployment of low capital investment hoisting solutions for Mining One's customers.

The partnership combines EcoHoist vertical material transportation solutions with Mining One's technical expertise in underground mining.

Mining One is a leader in the mining industry and is poised to become the first certified EcoHoist consultant. Successful design of the EcoHoist project requires consideration of many technical factors, including orebody shape and size, geotechnical conditions, mine and plant layout, as well as practical operational considerations. there is. Mining One's deep technical expertise and quality experience across these elements enables successful implementation of EcoHoist's low-cost hoisting equipment.

EcoHoist aims to improve upon traditional vertical hoist systems by significantly reducing the size of the required shaft. This reduction in shaft size leads to reduced capital costs and construction time compared to skip hoist systems. EcoHoist runs on electricity and offers mines using traditional diesel-powered loading and handling vehicles the opportunity to reduce production costs and decarbonize at the same time. As mines go deeper underground and external pressure to decarbonize mining operations increases, EcoHoist becomes an attractive solution.

Gary Davision, director and lead mining engineer at Mining One, said: “Ensuring safe and efficient transportation underground is becoming increasingly difficult. Our industry must explore lateral thinking approaches that will lead to significant improvements in transportation efficiency. We are excited to participate in the collaboration and validation of EcoHoist's technology and are proud to contribute to the development of the significant benefits it may bring.”

Matthew Forrest, Managing Director of EcoHoist, said: “To successfully decarbonize and reduce operating costs for our customers, our EcoHoist equipment must be seamlessly integrated into our customers’ mines. Working with Mining One will benefit both us and our customers. , which gives us confidence that this will be achieved.”
