As the university infrastructure landscape evolves, efforts to integrate smart air conditioning technology are reshaping renovation projects. This innovative approach not only preserves the historic essence of educational facilities, but also adapts them to modern standards of efficiency and sustainability. A notable example of this trend is the renovation of Ruth Collins Hall at Baylor University.

JE Dunn Construction Superintendent Adam Hammonds and his team embarked on a collaboration with Polygon to install a state-of-the-art climate control solution. This partnership was critical in driving Baylor University's renovation project toward unprecedented levels of efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This initiative is a testament to the transformative power of smart climate control technology to modernize educational facilities while preserving their historical significance.

Hammonds praised the flexibility of the smart sensor technology offered by Polygon and the significant economic benefits it brings.

“Smart sensor technology to date has been amazing in that it allows you to set your own parameters and monitor/operate it from your computer. You save a thousand gallons of diesel and you save money,” Hammonds said.

Hammonds dug deeper into technological advancements, highlighting the efficiency of smart controllers. The ability to make smart decisions based on real-time data stands out as a hallmark of cost-effectiveness.

“Smart controllers are also great because they have the ability to dictate whether one or both of the units should run based on parameters set in the dashboard. This also makes it even more cost-effective. “It’s going to increase,” he said. .

Mr. Hammons reflected on his overall experience with Polygon and shared his appreciation for the partnership and the innovative solutions provided.

“On behalf of the Collins Hall renovation team, Polygon has been a great team to work with. From their friendly service to the innovative equipment they have installed, everything has been extremely comfortable and pain-free. It was an experience,” Hammond said.
