UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State's Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) is accepting self-nominations until April 18 for the 2024-2026 Teaching and Learning Technology Faculty Advisory Board. This committee plays a vital role in guiding her TLT in integrating technology into teaching and learning at Penn State.
Members of the TLT Faculty Advisory Board will:
- Connect regularly with other faculty leaders who interact with TLT.
- Guide your teaching and learning decisions regarding technology at Penn State.
- Recommend topical areas of focus for existing programs, events, and strategic direction.
- Advocate for teaching, learning, technology, and innovation with colleagues and disciplines.
The committee meets at least three times each semester, with additional meetings as needed. Members are expected to actively participate in and maintain regular contact with their designated constituent organizations. Additionally, members are expected to interact asynchronously with their advisory board colleagues, exchange feedback, and discuss timely topics.
Amy Kuntz, instructional designer at TLT, said: “We recognize that faculty input plays an essential role in shaping the future of teaching and learning technology to increase student engagement and promote student success.” By soliciting self-nominations, we aim to ensure that faculty continue to have diverse perspectives that have the opportunity to collaborate, innovate, and lead in providing innovative student experiences for our students.”
Faculty who are passionate about integrating and implementing technology into their teaching practices and who are passionate about exploring new pedagogical approaches are encouraged to apply. Current committee members and TLT representatives will make the final selection and notify new members by early May. Appointed members will serve staggered terms of two years to ensure continuity and an influx of new ideas.
