Our world is constantly evolving and we never know how technology will impact our future. So it might be best for us as a society to accept it and learn how it can help us.
When many people think about the future, they may think of Back to the Future, with its futuristic flying cars and hoverboards. Although we have not yet reached this level of advancement, we are in a world where technology is changing rapidly.
Added to that is the idea that technology will bring about our downfall and that we will live out the dramatic ending of The Terminator. But that couldn't be further from the truth. As a society, we have the power to control how far technology develops.
For example, with the introduction of artificial intelligence and virtual reality, everyday activities will become instantaneous. There are pros and cons to these systems, but one guarantee is that AI cannot function without human help. AI is like a parrot. It does what it says. I don't know what I'm doing.
Thanks to another recent innovation, Apple Vision Pro, it looks like people can disconnect from the world and complete multiple tasks at once. Eye tracking and its accompanying accessories allow you to perform computational tasks without a keyboard or mouse. This is technology that people could only dream of, and it brings us one step closer to feeling like we live in a universe like the Marvel universe.
Even more alarming than Apple Vision Pro's capabilities are the robots I've encountered recently that seem to be becoming more advanced and realistic. When I was attending the Texas University Press Association convention in San Marcos, someone attending another convention at the same hotel had a robot dog with him. While he was controlling the robot, it was performing tricks and mannerisms that a live dog could do, some even more advanced than even the most well-trained live dog could accomplish. did.
It was amazing to see how advanced technology and robots have become. This can be scary, but it can also be cool to look to the future and see how we can help people with their everyday activities.
So don't run away from technology, even though technology is forever changing. Let's learn from it. It won't go away, so use it to help you. We have to take it forward and realize how useful it will be to society in the future.
